About Emma
As a Microbiology and Immunology (McGill Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences) graduate with an Education Minor, I have a unique combination of skills in both Science and Pedagogy. I have taken many courses relevant to tutoring and mentorship, such as Educational Philosophy and Psychology. In addition, I currently work in an Education research lab and am constantly furthering my pedagogical knowledge, ensuring I am always up-to-date on current best practices in the field. Outside of work, I love to travel, dance, and learn new recipes. I also enjoy learning new languages and have been awarded B2 certificates in both French and Italian, the latter of which I learned while on a Rotary exchange to Italy.

I pride myself on carefully personalizing my teaching style for each student, taking into account their unique needs and dreams for the future.
I work with students of all ages and backgrounds, from grade school to undergraduate university programs. I offer two types of tutoring: subject-specific (mostly Biology and Chemistry) and university-prep (for prospective students or exchange students).
Our first session involves introducing ourselves (students and/or parents, when applicable) and outlining some goals for our time together. From there, I create a learning plan spanning a series of lessons to ensure that students progress as much as possible within their time constraints.

Hi, We would highly recommend Emma for tutoring!
She is genuinely interested in her students, and takes the time to prepare for every class. She understands different learning styles and can adjust her teaching methods according to a specific student's needs. For instance, for a very visual learner, she will create charts that make more sense than countless pages of text! She has a lot of experience with ESL students and can also help with language related issues. We have really enjoyed her excellent communication and punctuality. Book with her if you can!See more recommendations
