About Rachael
I am a passionate, conscientious and reliable gap-year student, looking for part-time work in education. I have been praised for my clarity of communication and ability to simplify difficult concepts by both my peers and teachers. I thoroughly enjoyed my school career, and have demonstrated throughout it academic excellence, consistent high levels of organisation, strong work ethic and teamwork, which I intend to utilise further during my employment. I have experience working with younger children through both child-care and teaching assistant work, as well as taking the role of assistant producer in a children’s live television show at the BBC, which have given me the perfect insight into how to engage and communicate with children to make their education both effective and enjoyable.

I am a visual teacher, and I believe lessons are more engaging and satisfying with visual tools such as diagrams and mind-maps to help students not only memorise key elements of the course, but also simplify complicated concepts. The sciences can be difficult subjects to navigate, but I know from experience that students tell themselves it is too hard before they have given themselves a chance to grasp topics. My aim is to first and foremost build my students' confidence in both Chemistry and Biology, this will then in turn help them to fully engage with the subject and consequently improve their performance.
