About Courtney
Hi, my name is Courtney! I’m a recent English graduate from the University of Cambridge (2.1 honours). I earlier achieved an A* at English Literature A Level (OCR), as well as two grade 9s in English language and literature at IGCSE. I have always loved teaching English—I tutored my younger brother and several of his friends—and I plan to go into teaching full-time. I am passionate about not just helping students improve, but also allowing them to foster their own love and passion for the subject, and I’d love to help you!

My lessons are for GCSE and A Level English students looking for help on examination technique; they typically last an hour. A typical lesson will involve a review of past written work, structured discussion of how to approach questions (including example responses), and then time for the student to write part of a paragraph for live feedback. I have previously tutored GCSE English Literature, helping students improve by as many as four number grades.

Courtney tutored my son in preparation for his English Lit GCSE and helped him get an amazing grade! Her support definitely boosted his final grade but more importantly she engaged with our son in a way that was personal to him and that gave him a fresh enthusiasm for literature in general.
