About Ryan
I am a recent graduate from the University of California, Berkeley. I got my Bachelor's in international studies and have an Associate's degree in both chemistry and "science and math." I have done biomedical research at the University of California, Irvine where I won an award for presenting my research at a national conference. I also have previous experience tutoring and starting a mentor club while at my community college.

The way I go about teaching or tutoring is first asking the student if they have any immediate questions about a topic they don't understand. If so, I will go through the material with the student and explain it in a different way than previously presented in order for them to understand it. If reviewing for a test, I like to give out quizzes to see where students excel and where they may need more help. I try to tailor lessons/exercises to students in order to help them in the most efficient way possible. I'm also very patient, so if a student is having trouble grasping a certain concept I like to slow down to ensure he/she fully understands it. So far my teaching experience has been college students, however, I believe the way I go about tutoring can be applied to any grade level since I like to tailor my tutoring to each particular student's strengths and weaknesses.
