About Benjamin
JHU/UChicago graduate. Spoke Korean for 26 years (and counting)! The course will initially involve mastery of the Korean alphabet (Hangeul) and combinations of vowels and consonants. After, the course will focus on learning basic sentence structure and particles. Concomitantly, the student will familiarize with Korean grammar. At this time, depending on the student's background, modules on Hanja (Chinese characters used in Korean) will be provided. Emphasis placed later on honorifics, and levels of formality. I graduated with Departmental Honors in Chemistry, and I hold a Master's degree in Physical Sciences from UChicago. I have extensive tutoring experience - I have tutored in a variety of classes in STEM in addition to the Korean language for a private company for 4 years.

I am a tutor conversant with both Korean, English, and Japanese.
Korean may be a scientific and time-efficient language, but admittedly it is a language with a ton of nuances and different voices of formality and honorifics. With the lessons that I provide, I will help you learn Korean in a way that even kids from grade school could understand. Perfect! After a brief introduction, we got straight into the basics, very friendly and is always open to questions!
Perfect! My first meeting was great. We went over the very basic of vowels, consonants, and sentence structure. Following with homework on what to work on. Will be continuing lessons with him!!
