About Laura

I fell in love with Italian, and Italy, at a young age. I started learning the language at the age of 12 and spent the following 25 years becoming a fluent speaker, teacher and translator. Italy is my second home, so I have a deep understanding of not only the language but the culture, too. A great teacher makes all the difference to a student's success. When I found a teacher who could really explain the mechanics of the Italian language to me, and could show me how to practise effectively, I was able to accelerate my learning. I can teach you the methodology I used to become fluent in Italian and help you reach your goal, whether it's conversational Italian, passing an exam or preparing for a job interview. I can also support with translating texts and translation best practices.

About the lesson

I believe that learning a language goes beyond just memorising words. To become truly fluent and confident, you must understand the grammatical rules and how all the pieces of the language fit together. Through my classes, you will access the framework I used to become fluent in Italian and sound like a native, or simply improve your existing skills. I have a first-class degree in Italian and a distinction-level master's degree in Italian Translation & Interpreting. With 10 years of experience in translating and teaching, my classes are suitable for students of all levels. I can assess your level and needs before tailoring lessons to meet your requirements. Whatever your reason for learning, I can help you truly understand the language and the culture so that you can start communicating with confidence. Classes can be 30, 45, or 60 minutes long.
