About Rachael
Before teaching I worked mainly with people in a customer related field. That invaluable experience not only taught me patience and time management skills but it was also important in teaching me how to interact effectively with many different people. I thoroughly believe that my high qualifications both in academia and in the workplace, combined with my previous tutoring experiences and relaxed and personable demeanour, makes me the perfect tutor for you. There is nothing in the world more important to me than seeing the improvement in a student and seeing what doors language learning can open up for them. This is something I saw a huge amount of when I was teaching in a government run school in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

I can assure you that my English Language lessons are highly engaging and effective, utilising many methodologies that I have learnt whilst qualifying as a TEFL teacher. After completing my 120 hour face to face course, including 60+ contact teaching time, I gained valuable and extensive experience teaching varied age groups and abilities in Eastern Europe, Asia and Central America. I understand to a great extent how important it is to create lessons that focus on the activation of language and allow the student to use the acquired language in the way that is most useful in achieving his/her purpose for learning the language in the first place. From teaching adults in Costa Rica, to teaching children in Cambodia, I have seen first hand how vital it is to use varied resources and techniques in the classroom in order to suit a variety of learning styles. As a tutor I aim to develop all aspects of English, not only speaking and will use techniques I have found effective in my own University Education. My lessons will be structured differently as I would hate for my tutee to get bored and disengaged. My underlying teaching philosophy stems from the fact that I believe learning and education should be an enjoyable and fun process where the tutor acts more as a source of guidance rather than a feeder of information.

Rachael is a highly organized individual, who takes great pride and care, in the preparation and delivery of her work. However, this doesn't mean she isn't fun and creative in her work!
She possesses excellent, and comprehensive, geographic subject knowledge - covering both human and physical topics.
Additionally, she is a patient teacher, who is receptive to the needs of her pupils, and prepared to adapt her methods to their needs.
Rachael has helped our son, who was initially reluctant to have extra tutoring, with his GCSE geography. She has managed to ignight a passion for study in Michael who now really seems to understand his work , which is a lot more than can be said for his Mum and me. Thank you Rachael.
My wife and I have been so impressed with Rachael’s dedication and hard work. She even managed to help our son find a joy in the subject! He now talks of studying it at Uni!
She has achieved this by spending considerable time with him and his lessons. Her preparation for each session has clearly been bespoke for him, for his learning style, and fitting in around his other commitments.
We are very grateful to Rachael and so happy that we found her. Thank you.I was really struggling with my GCSE Geography, I especially couldn’t get my head around plate tectonics and interactions. Rachael helped me get from a 4 to a 7 and really boosted my confidence in exams. Thank you!
Rachael is amazing! She manages to enthuse her students, and reassure their parents!
Rachael has a superb way of delivering her lessons and helping her students consolidate their learning. Learning with her becomes something to look forward to.
A friendly young woman, and a very talented and experienced tutor. It is obvious that she has been tutoring for many years!
Wishing you every, continued success! We won’t hesitate to book with you again.
