About Kayla
Welcome, my name is Kayla, and I am a science teacher of 7 years.
I have experience teaching in the UK (6 years) and abroad (NZ - one year).
Biology is my passion, I have a bachelor's degree in Zoology, a master's degree in Marine Biology, and a PGCE in Secondary Science teaching.
In addition to this, I am also TEFL certified and I spent 6 months teaching English online during the 2020 lockdown.
If you decide to tutor with me, you will find a warm and nurturing tutor, who wants to help every student achieve their goals and aspirations.

For GCSE students the aim is to check student understanding, identify gaps in knowledge, and ensure confidence in exam technique.
KS3 students will be taught the foundations of science that will help them to achieve success in KS4. I provide a calm and nurturing environment (which is not what all KS3 classrooms look like at the moment).
I have experience teaching both Higher and Foundation students, as well as students with SEND needs, EHCP's, and SEMH.
Lessons will be an hour long to ensure students are not cognitively overloaded.
Lessons are adapted to suit the learning style of the students.,
