About Ying

Greetings! I'm Ying, currently residing in Australia, but my roots trace back to China. Several years ago, I embarked on an overseas student journey in Australia, where I had the pleasure of connecting with fellow students who shared a similar passion for Chinese language and culture. During that time, I also volunteered in a Chinese language class, further fueling my interest in teaching.

Having experienced both Chinese and Australian cultures and educational systems, I gained valuable insights that eventually led me to pursue a career in teaching. I proudly worked with students from diverse cultural backgrounds, fostered an inclusive and enriching learning environment.

Apart from teaching, I have a deep love for travel and photography. Exploring new places and capturing the beauty of the world through my lens brings me immense joy and inspiration. It's a pleasure to combine my interests with my role as an educator, making the learning experience more engaging and culturally immersive for my students.

About the lesson

I hold a PGCE with Distinction from the University of Nottingham (UK) and a bachelor's degree in Management from the University of Queensland. My journey as a Chinese tutor began several years ago during my time at University. Subsequently, I spent many years living and working in Beijing. I freelanced at a bilingual school in Beijing and I gained valuable experience as a former classroom teacher in a renowned international school catering to students from Kindergarten to Year 13.

Now, I am eager to share my passion for Mandarin and offer enjoyable, engaging classes suitable for learners of all levels. My aim is to create a dynamic learning environment that fosters a love for the language while helping students achieve their language goals.
