I am a qualified teacher and have taught primarily in Colleges, but I do have experience teaching in Secondary Schools, as well Universities. My expertise exists in Film, Media, Psychology and English Literature & Language and I am versed with a myriad of exam specifications which include: AQA, OCR, WJEC and BTEC.
I am a young, vibrant, energetic and curious human-being, who takes great pride in helping, not only the next generation, but the wider community. This is evident through my experiences living abroad in countries such as Sweden, Australia and the USA, as well as writing and directing award winning short films. I should also note that I do not only exist in the education sector, but also as a practitioner in the creative industries as a screenwriter and filmmaker.
The fusion of my teaching and professional skill-set provides a unique learning experience for a given learner since I am able to inject live and tangible examples into the learning process. In essence, the learner needs to be inspired and who better to do this than a professional educator and practitioner.
Whilst my approach varies from student to student in order to meet their individual needs, my philosophy is that every student, given the right support, can achieve the highest grades. Therefore, I aim to instill self-confidence and self-belief in the student over a period of time, which will build a foundation for both short and long-term success.
During the first session I will, along with the learner, identify key areas that require improvement. This will usually be through talking with the student, but also via mock examination. It will also be through mock examination that I will diagnose areas of improvement from which to obtain the highest grade possible. Subsequently, I will create a course of action plus targets that the learners should aim to achieve during the tuition sessions.
