About Ilda
My name is Ilda and I am from Luxembourg. I have a Master of Arts in English and Politics as well as a Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary English) from the University of Aberdeen.
My experience includes teaching 12 to 18-year-olds English grammar and literature. My lessons helped my pupils/students improve their English writing, listening and speaking levels as well as their essay writing and literary analysis skills. I have an excellent understanding of the Scottish education system and am also very familiar with the English system.

My lessons start by getting to know the pupils' levels and defining their learning intentions and the success criteria. I want my pupils to know exactly what they already understand and what we are working towards. I aim to provide ample explanations, examples and tasks for the pupils to be able to improve their learning. I work with the pupils until they can do the tasks with less help and work more independently.
My lessons are tailored towards the pupils'/students' needs and interests: I have created lessons on Google classroom/Microsoft Teams/OneNote for pupils who prefer interactive technology for their learning and on Word/PowerPoint/recording of me writing on a whiteboard for pupils who prefer a more traditional style of learning. I aim to create examples and use texts which are about subjects which interest the pupils. My lessons are also differentiated if the pupils/students have any additional needs such as dyslexia, ADHD, autism, learning difficulties etc. In this case, I would have to work more closely with the pupils/students to find out which differentiating methods they prefer or have used before.
Finally, I aim to provide feedback at the end of every lesson and I track my pupils' progress with continuous mini-assessments. This helps me to figure out if my pupils need more help with a specific theme or task or if we can move on because they understand everything. please let me know in advance if you are preparing for a certain test/exam. I look forward to hearing from potential pupils/students.
