About Lucyharrison
Hi, I'm Lucy! I am a qualified primary school teacher with a passion for helping children feel confident and enjoy learning.
I offer online tuition for children aged 5–11 across KS1 and KS2, with a focus on Maths and English. I can support children with reading, writing, phonics, spelling, grammar, maths skills, homework and SATs preparation.
As a teacher, I understand that every child learns differently. I aim to make my lessons relaxed, engaging and tailored to each child's individual needs. Whether your child needs extra support with a particular area, wants to catch up with their classmates, or simply needs a confidence boost, I will work at their pace and help them make progress.
I am friendly, patient and enthusiastic, and I want every child to finish a lesson feeling proud of what they have achieved.

My approach to tutoring is friendly, supportive and tailored to each child's individual needs. As a qualified primary teacher with QTS, I understand that children learn in different ways and at different paces, so I adapt my teaching to help each child feel comfortable, confident and successful.
Before beginning regular lessons, I like to understand the child's current level, strengths and areas they find challenging. I then plan lessons around their individual needs and the primary curriculum.
My lessons are interactive and engaging rather than simply completing worksheets. I use questioning, modelling, worked examples, games, visual resources and practical activities to help children understand mathematical concepts. I encourage children to explain their thinking and celebrate their progress, helping them develop both their mathematical skills and confidence.
Lessons are typically 45–60 minutes, depending on the child's age and concentration level. For younger children, I can offer shorter sessions where appropriate.
I offer online Maths tuition for primary-aged children from 5–11 years old, covering both KS1 and KS2. I can support children who need extra help with specific topics, want to build their confidence, need additional practice outside school, or are preparing for assessments and SATs.
As a newly qualified primary teacher, I have experience planning and delivering lessons, adapting learning for different abilities and supporting children with a range of learning needs. I bring a calm, patient and encouraging approach to every lesson and aim to make Maths something children can feel positive and confident about.
