About Saliq
Hello, my name is Saliq, and I am a dedicated and passionate Mathematics teacher with extensive experience supporting students at KS3 and GCSE level. I believe that every student can succeed in Maths with the right guidance, encouragement, and teaching approach.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students of all abilities, from those who struggle with confidence and basic numeracy skills to high-achieving students aiming for top GCSE grades. My focus is always on helping students understand the reasoning behind mathematical methods rather than simply memorising procedures, allowing them to develop lasting confidence and independence.
As a practising secondary school Maths teacher, I have a thorough understanding of the current GCSE curriculum and examination requirements. I regularly create high-quality learning resources, revision materials, and exam-focused activities designed to help students maximise their potential.
My lessons are patient, supportive, and tailored to the individual needs of each student. I understand that many students can feel anxious about Mathematics, so I work hard to create a relaxed and positive learning environment where questions are encouraged and mistakes are viewed as opportunities to learn.

I am an experienced secondary school Maths teacher and tutor, specialising in KS3 and GCSE Mathematics (Foundation and Higher). My approach focuses on building confidence, developing problem-solving skills, and helping students understand mathematical concepts rather than simply memorising methods.
Lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, strengths, and areas for improvement. I begin by identifying any gaps in understanding before teaching concepts using clear explanations, worked examples, and guided practice. Students then apply their learning through carefully selected exam-style questions, helping them become familiar with the techniques and problem-solving skills required for success in assessments and GCSE examinations.
I use a step-by-step teaching methodology that breaks complex topics into manageable parts, ensuring students fully understand each stage before moving on. Regular retrieval practice, questioning, and feedback are incorporated throughout lessons to reinforce learning and improve long-term retention.
I have extensive experience teaching Mathematics at secondary school level and creating engaging learning resources for KS3 and KS4 students. I have supported students of varying abilities, from those needing help with core numeracy skills to higher-attaining students aiming for top GCSE grades.
