About Cory

I began as a self-taught adult gymnast, when I walked into a gymnastics class at 19. I was inspired by all the martial arts movies and wanted to learn how to flip and tumble. My coach then encouraged me to begin coaching and by doing that I learned so much more that helped with my training but I loved seeing people reach their gymnastics goals. I still train and coach and I am fascinated by learning the particular methods that allow people to be able to perform gymnastics skills they never thought they could and also getting people coming back to training back up to where they can develop more skills.

Gymnastics is and has something for everyone. Every body can learn and develop to move dynamically. My teaching focuses on understanding how the body works against gymnastics skills, building confidence through clear progressions, and developing skills over time in a way that feels achievable and fun. I place strong emphasis on foundational shapes and movements, safe technique, and playful exploration. Encouraging creativity keeps sessions fresh and helps the whole body develop—not just the muscles needed for one isolated skill. Skills typically learned are Forward/Backward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, front somersaults. Structure: Warm-up: Preparing the body through mobility, stretching, and shape reminders. Foundations: Revisiting basic shapes and fundamental movements that underpin all skills. Skill Development: We choose the skills you want to learn. I break them down into achievable steps and create a personalised plan with progressions tailored to your level. Cool Down: Gentle stretching and reflection on what we learned. Sessions are always student-led in terms of goals, and I consistently encourage variety, play, and exploration to keep learning enjoyable and well-rounded. Who My Lessons Are For I coach ages 6 through adult, from beginners who want to build confidence and learn foundational skills, to more experienced learners looking to refine technique or achieve specific moves. My self-taught background makes me especially skilled at supporting adult beginners who may feel unsure about starting gymnastics later in life. Typical lessons run for 45–60 minutes, depending on the session type and level.
