About Mónica

Hey there!

My name is Monica, I am 31 years old, and I am certified as bilingual Spanish/English and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) by the UK government, although I also speak French and very basic Dutch :D.

I chose this field because I discovered it as my calling. I was studying a degree in English Studies when I started helping my classmates with Spanish Language and Linguistics. At the same time, I was working as a fitness trainer to pay for my living and degree, and by combining these two activities I realized that what I was meant to do was teaching.

As a teacher I keep updated from Neuroscience. I prioritize inquiry-based learning and work to help my students become good communicators, critical thinkers, proactive and confident. My students play an active role in the lessons by participating, building them and, if possible, designing them too. I have a holistic view of Education, so I like that the bonds I build with my students go beyond academics.

In terms of experience, I have worked as a trainer for official exams and as an EAL/EFL and Homeroom teacher throughout both Primary and Secondary stages. I have followed the PEP/PYP (IB diploma) and the Spanish bilingual curriculum.
Of course, I have also taught students who simply want to have fun, enjoy traveling and meeting people from other cultures, improve themselves and learn :).

I am hard-working, very enthusiastic, resolute, committed to my students and to growth and development, also mine.

About the lesson

Any age and level.
We learn using the language, we get to know cultures and we train (academic and psychological) so that exams are a breeze.
Specialty in Cambridge exams (Movers, Flyers, First and Advance), but I know IELTS and Trinity.
Learn to express yourself comfortably and correctly, orally or in writing.
Handles texts and understands auditory messages efficiently.
Reason, argue and debate about the issues that interest you.
Play, experiment, enjoy music and series and movies that we will work on in class and/or at home.
Don't worry about blockages, we can overcome them.
We can also agree on a rate based on your needs and contracted service.

If I could, I’d choose her to teach kids for all subjects! But we had lessons of Geography for 11yo kid and Spanish for 7 yo.
