My focus are communicative approach and situational approach on creating real-life scenarios where students actively engage in using the language to communicate meaningfully. My teaching philosophy is Constructivist, which emphasizes the importance of learners actively constructing their own understanding of the language through and prior knowledge, experience and reflection.
In my classes, which mostly run for 45 to 90 minutes, I tailor the content and pace according to the needs and abilities of the students. Whether they are beginners starting from scratch or advanced learners aiming for fluency, I adjust my teaching strategies accordingly. For students who lean towards practical applications of Chinese, I incorporate real-life situations and contexts into the lessons to make the learning experience more relevant and engaging. For those starting from the basics and wish to build up solid language skills, I begin with pinyin to establish a strong foundation in pronunciation or other skills in reading and writing before progressing to more complex structures.
As a tutor, I have extensive experience in teaching Chinese language, ensuring that I am equipped to guide students effectively through their learning journey. My classes cater to a diverse range of learners, including different proficiency levels and age groups, with the goal of providing personalized instruction that meets each student's unique learning needs.
