About Oliver
Hi, I’m George! My passion for the performing arts began early, starting with my first acting role as the Artful Dodger in 'Oliver!' when I was just 8 years old.
I’ve been immersed in theatre ever since, and it’s been an incredible journey. I am an incredibly creative individual, who enjoys working collaboratively and bringing out the best in others.
I have over ten years professional teaching experience, first beginning in 2012, and have worked with hundreds of students across the world since then.
I love helping students reach those “light bulb” moments—whether they’re achieving personal creative goals or mastering a new acting technique. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing their hard work and talent come to life on stage!
With over ten years in education, I’ve taught both in person and online, finding virtual teaching especially rewarding during the COVID-19 pandemic. I quickly adapted to digital platforms, using interactive tools, breakout sessions, and creative online activities to keep students engaged and motivated.
I designed virtual performances, guiding students in producing scenes and monologues remotely, and helped them prepare for exams in this format. This experience equipped me with skills in digital lesson planning, virtual communication, and interactive teaching—skills that I bring to online tutoring.
I started my career with an international youth theatre in Hong Kong, supporting young performers (many of whom were learning English) with creative, engaging methods. With a teaching accreditation from Manchester Metropolitan University, I’ve worked with diverse students from ages 4 to 18, including GCSE and A-Level groups (KS4 and KS5), and am familiar with AQA, Edexcel, and CAIE exam boards.
Over the years, I’ve directed productions like Alice in Wonderland, Lord of the Flies, and High School Musical, along with teaching English, music, and PSHE life skills to help students build creativity and confidence.
