About Maria
Italian native-speakers, passionate about languages, linguistics and language teaching
I have a PhD in Language Teaching (Teaching Italian as a foreign language).
I've been teaching Italian as a Foreign Language since 2015 to children, teenagers and adults in different educational settings.
My teaching style is 100% learner-oriented. I usually ask in advance what are the student’s goals, expectations and interests. Then, I prepare a study plan shaped on the student's needs and his/her learning strategies, which will be discussed in the first (free) lesson.

My lessons are always very different and I don't have a "typical lesson" as they are based on the needs and specificities of the student.
In general, I try to include different types of activities; for example, I often start with a short conversation as a warm-up, followed by a review of the vocabulary (also the help of virtual flashcards) and then move on to activities that require more concentration.
If the goal is (for example) to pass a certification, I work more on grammar; if the goal is to speak fluently, I focus more on communicative situations, presenting grammar a bit more inductively.
I also integrate my lessons with audio, video and power point, shaped according to the goals of my students to make the lesson more interesting and effective.
