About Monique
My name is Monique and I live in New York City. I’m a teacher assistant who works with both preschool and elementary school students. I also have experience working with neurodivergent students as an RBT. I’m currently pursuing my undergraduate in psychology with a mental health focus. In a few more months from now, I plan on applying to a mental health and counseling master’s program. I inspire to become a licensed mental health counselor specializing in psychotherapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy. My dream is to help individuals in need navigate through this place we call life. I want to leave positive impacts on everyone I come across throughout this lifetime. I love educating and sharing knowledge with others. I love contributing to the success of others and helping them develop skills and providing relevant tools that can be used in daily life. I’m patient and kind. Making a difference in my students’ lives is my number one passion.

My learning objectives in psychology will involve helping students develop strong research skills. I will also help students develop knowledge about human behavior across several perspectives such as social, biological, sociocultural, etc. Students will learn about different psychological theories in each perspective. Students studying sociology will learn about sociological perspectives to gain a deeper understanding of human behavior in broader social context. They will learn about fundamental concepts in the social sciences such as culture, roles, social norms, values, etc.
