About Tessa
Hi! My name is Tessa, and I am currently a student at Purdue University majoring in Cybersecurity with a minor in Forensic Sciences. I have always enjoyed working with kids and helping them learn new skills and gain confidence in themselves.
I have experience working with children of different ages as a swim instructor, camp counselor, and lacrosse coach. Through these roles, I have developed strong communication, patience, and leadership skills. I understand that every child learns differently, and I always try to create a positive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
As a college student, I understand how important it is to have someone who can explain challenging topics in a simple and understandable way. I am excited to help elementary and middle school students improve their math and reading skills while making learning a positive experience!

I am a student at Purdue University studying Cybersecurity, and I enjoy helping younger students build confidence in their learning! I offer math and reading tutoring for elementary and middle school students. My goal is to create a positive, comfortable environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and learn at their own pace.
My teaching approach is patient, supportive, and personalized to each student's needs. I like to break down difficult concepts into smaller, easier steps and use examples and practice problems to help students understand the material. I believe learning should be engaging and not something students dread!
A typical lesson starts with reviewing what the student is currently learning in school and identifying any areas they are struggling with. From there, we work through examples together, practice independently, and review what they learned to make sure they feel confident.
What sets me apart is my experience working with children as a swim instructor, camp counselor, and coach. These experiences have taught me how to communicate with kids of different ages, be patient, and adapt my teaching style to fit their needs.
Whether your child needs help with homework, preparing for a test, improving reading skills, or strengthening basic math skills, I would love to help them succeed!
