Mark got me to do the reading for English class in 10th grade even when I disliked the required literature. He really cares about students as people, made it safe to tell our truth in class. And he taught us how to think critically and connect ideas together. He even made life seem ok for those of us with protective parents who wouldn’t let us do what other teenagers did.
