About Elliot

I’m currently a PhD candidate in History of Art at University College London. As part of my PhD, I have been a Teaching Assistant on a number of modules. In 2023, I earned an MA in History of Art from UCL and achieved a distinction. The dissertation I wrote for my masters won the Oxford Art Journal Best Dissertation Prize and I was on the Dean’s List to recognise outstanding academic achievement. Prior to UCL, I earned a first class BA (hons) degree in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art. Before embarking on my degree in Fine Art, I completed a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at Central Saint Martins.

In between my academic studies, I worked in the arts in various roles. From 2022 to 2025, I was an Assistant Curator of Public Programmes working across Tate Modern and Tate Britain.

I've had the pleasure of working with Elliot at Tate in the Learning team and know that he is a great published art writer. Elliot's approachable methods and range of references make him both a great teacher and writer, and I would highly recommend him as a tutor.

I worked closely with Elliot on a book project titled 'Southend‘s Twilight Worlds' a couple of years ago. During our time working on the project, Elliot demonstrated initiative, a deep knowledge of art history, and consistent commitment. He inspired those around him and drove the project forward with interesting ideas and astute observations about art works. I would definitely recommend Elliot!
