About Muna

My name is Muna. I am 26 years old and I am in my final year of university studying Psychology. I developed a passion for Psychology through watching crime shows as it made me question why they did the crime. Through this I realised that by studying Psychology, I could potentially guide individuals to better themselves. I did not get the GCSE's and A-Level's I needed therefore I did not get accepted to Universities, I could not graduate with my friends and I could not fulfil my passion. So, I decided to go back to college and worked hard on getting my GCSE's. I started from functional skills Maths and English, within that year I had completed both functional skills and my GCSE's. The next year I started working as a support worker in a nursing home and did a nursing associates course. In the meantime, I started applying for universities. Within a few weeks of applying, I go invited to interviews in 3 different universities, which I'd passed and got accepted to. With that being said, I am ready for the next challenge, after a long 6 years of working as a support worker.

About the lesson

As a psychology student, I feel that it is important to get know your tutor and form a common ground between tutor and student. With this we will start our lessons with a 5 minutes brief introduction, followed by a focused 15 minutes of homework completion (from school/college). We will then take a 5 minutes break. After a quick break we will have a 10 minutes pop quiz which will allow me to assess your progress and set individualised targets for our next session. After this we will take another 5 minutes break to recharge. Finally, we will briefly revisit topics cover the previous session to rejog our memory and move on to the task of the day which will be set using targets which we set the previous session. This will take approximately 30 minutes. We will end the session with the student setting their own targets and writing down what they feel they have they improved in and what they think we need to work on. Which will take about 10 minutes.
