About Vivian
Hi! I’m Vivian, a Clinical Psychology graduate who enjoys teaching Mandarin to adults who are starting from the basics.
I understand that learning a new language as an adult can feel challenging, especially when you are unsure where to start. My teaching approach is patient, relaxed, and supportive. I aim to create a comfortable learning environment where you can ask questions, practise freely, and learn at your own pace.
Whether you are learning Mandarin for travel, work, daily conversations, or simply because you are interested in the language, I will help you build your confidence step by step.

My lessons are designed for adult beginners and can be adapted to your goals, interests, and current level.
Depending on your needs, lessons may cover:
• Basic Mandarin pronunciation and Pinyin
• Everyday vocabulary and useful phrases
• Sentence structures and basic grammar
• Practical conversations for daily situations
• Listening and speaking practice
• Mandarin for travel, work, or social situations
• Building confidence in speaking Mandarin
Rather than focusing only on memorising vocabulary, I encourage students to practise using Mandarin in realistic situations. Lessons include explanations, guided practice, conversation exercises, and plenty of opportunities to speak.
You do not need any previous Mandarin experience. We can start from the very basics and gradually build your vocabulary, pronunciation, and confidence.
