About Tony
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor, registered MBACP, with a strong interest in psychoanalytic theory, clinical thinking and reflective writing.
My background is in psychodynamic psychotherapy, with training and experience in working clinically with clients for many years, as well as helping students understand and apply psychoanalytic ideas. I am especially interested in Freud, Klein, Winnicott, Bion, object relations theory, transference, countertransference, defences, the therapeutic relationship and clinical formulation.
I am aware that psychoanalytic writing can feel difficult at first. The concepts are often abstract, and many students struggle to move from description into deeper critical thinking. My aim is to help students understand the theory clearly, develop their own voice, and write in a way that is thoughtful, structured and academically convincing.
I can support students with essays, reflective writing, case studies, theory assignments, proofreading and improving the clarity of their academic work. I do not write essays for students, but I help them think through their ideas, strengthen their arguments, organise their material and express themselves more clearly.
My style is calm, thoughtful and collaborative. I take students' work seriously and give clear, honest feedback. I aim to create a space where students can ask simple questions, test ideas, and gradually develop more confidence in their thinking and writing.
My lessons are most suitable for psychology students, counselling and psychotherapy trainees, art therapy students, and anyone studying psychoanalytic or psychodynamic ideas at undergraduate, postgraduate or professional training level.

My lessons are for university students, counselling and psychotherapy trainees, and adult learners who want support with psychoanalytic or psychodynamic writing.
I can help with essay writing, critical thinking, academic structure, reflective writing, creative clinical writing, and proofreading. My focus is not only on grammar or style, but on helping you think more clearly and write with more depth.
In lessons, we can work on:
• Understanding psychoanalytic and psychodynamic theory
• Developing stronger essay arguments
• Improving structure and flow
• Linking theory to clinical or reflective material
• Clarifying Freud, Klein, Winnicott, Bion and object relations theory
• Improving critical thinking rather than simply describing ideas
• Proofreading and improving academic expression
My approach is collaborative and educational. I will not write your essay for you, but I will help you understand your material, develop your own argument, and express your ideas more clearly. We can work from your assignment brief, draft essay, notes, reading list, or a specific theory you are considering.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes. Some students use one-off sessions for essay planning or proofreading, while others prefer regular support across a course or assignment.
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor, registered MBACP, with experience in psychoanalytic theory, clinical thinking, reflective writing and academic support. I work especially well with students who want to move beyond surface-level description and develop more thoughtful, psychologically informed writing.
These lessons are suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate students, counselling and psychotherapy trainees, psychology students, art therapy students, and anyone studying psychoanalytic or psychodynamic ideas.
