About Bryan

I have a PhD in Integrative Biology, an MS in Biology, and a BS in Integrative Biology. In addition to working as a professor, researcher, and teaching assistant, I have also worked for seven years as an environmental consultant. So, I not only have a strong grasp of the relevant material and how to help others understand the complexities of the biological sciences, but I also understand how these principles are applied in the real world and how they are cross-applied to other fields of study.

About the lesson

I am a Professor of Integrative Biology with more than twenty years of research and teaching experience, who has published multiple peer reviewed articles of original research.

I recognize that every student has their own specific needs and difficulties, and I meet each of my students where they are to determine together what specific learning objectives the student wants to accomplish.

I can provide tutoring for high school, undergraduate, or graduate students in a wide variety of subjects including:

High School - Any STEM subject

Undergraduate - Any biology, ecology, evolution, anatomy & physiology, animal behavior, technical writing, or similar subject

Graduate - Advanced ecology and evolutionary biology topics (inquire for specifics)

When possible, I confer with the course instructors to gain an understanding of the specific material being covered within the course so that I can tailor my lessons to meet the specific student's needs. I have access to a wide variety of educational materials that I can use to provide students with power point presentations, video demonstrations, support worksheets, and active learning activities to help students understand the often complex nuances of scientific principles and biological systems.

What sets me apart from other tutors is that I have more than a decade of teaching experience at the undergraduate level, and I intimately understand how the courses have been developed, what concepts the courses are trying to impart to the students, and how the topics are likely to appear on the exam.
