About Michael
I struggled to learn ASL as a student. It was always something I wanted to learn, but I found myself constantly hitting a wall with processing what I was seeing and being able to remember signs. I remember thinking to myself on more than one occasion "will I ever get this stuff?".
As we work together to help you learn better, we will actively work to over come any type negative thought you have like this. Because if I can do it, it is very likely that you can too.
I've improved my skill level to the point people speaking me out to provide services in interpreting and teaching. Let's get you there also!
Aside from American Sign Language, I work in the hearing health industry as a Hearing Conservationist, and a Hearing Instrument Specialist. I am also in school working on my doctorate degree from Virginia University of Integrative Medicine.

We will have a total immersion experience in which we turn off our voices for a large part of our sessions, this will encourage cognitive processing of linguistic concepts, helping inbed them into your subconscious for better recall later on.

The free first lesson with Michael allows you to get to know the tutor and discuss your needs and expectations.
- 30min
Details
The first 30 minute session will be more of a get to know you, get to know me event. It will be conducted online regardless of whether you choose an in-person option for your tutoring package. We will talk about your goals and how I can help you reach them in this pow wow. We will come up with a plan and come up with a strategy to work towards that.
