About Paul

Wow, where do I begin, well as the great Julie Andrews once sang 'Let's start at the very beginning' (google it, it might make more sense).

Anyway, IT was not my first profession, in fact I had many, from graphic design, sales, builder, etc, etc. However it was for two reason I chose IT.

Firstly I had been a builder for a number of years but due to a work accident I was unable to continue and it was during this time that the second reason came into play.

Secondly My wife and I had always wanted to live in New Zealand and at the time IT was on the up so I decided to re-train in IT and joined a training program that also offered associated work experience. My chosen specialisation was Testing.

That very same company I trained with later offered me a training position to work with all the new students they had and later I would become a Test Consultant and visit the students on their work placement sites and offer any further help and advice.

Role on quite a few more years and I successfully emigrated to New Zealand and continued my Test career, from Head of Testing for a major company to creating a running a new Test Training organisation.

So as you can tell I have had many years in both Testing and Training and I love to pass on the vast knowledge I have gained from the years in the IT industry.

About the lesson

While I have a general training plan that covers the '101 of Testing', I prefer to tailor this for each student depending on their current knowledge and ideal learning style.
I like to make all my sessions enjoyable and fun as I feel this its the best way for important information to be retained by the learner.
I have been involved in training IT professionals and those interested in starting their career as one for well over 15 years, both here in New Zealand and back in England.
I like to keep all sessions/lessons within a 60 minute timeframe as this typically is most peoples concentration span. With that said this will vary slightly depending on the actual topic being covered.
