About Jan

My name is Jan Makopa and I own the owner of Vicap Academy and Research , a matric rewrite and science tutoring center that is located in a quiet location uptown in Witbank town. My center is registered with CIPC, SAIP and ASSA and we focuse on teaching and mentoring struggling learners from respective academic backgrounds. I mainly utilize experimental learning especially for physics with the aim to boost a student's self-esteem, knowledge and skills both educationally and on the outside world, thus enhancing their transition into working life. We have a system dedicated to identify a student's weaknesses by making the student write a screening test on a computer software voluntarily. This allows us to identify the student's weak areas and work on improving them. We have put in place teaching methods that minimizes paper based learning by utilizing screen projections while learning. This is also facilitated by video projections of relevant topics being covered in class. Our stuff members are qualified educators, including the head of this project, Jan Makopa who has a Bachelors (Hons) Degree in Applied Physics. He is also a member of The Astronomical Society of Southern Africa, ASSA and also a member of South Africa Institute of Physics.

About the lesson
