About Dominica

I have held a camera in my hands since I was just six years old, becoming a hobbyist photographer in 2019 where I officially started my professional business. I have previously worked for Lifetouch Photo Studios, and with countless families comprised of all ages including babies, children, teens, adults, and even pets!

I have collaborated with 20+ professional models over my career, photographed weddings, engagements, communions, birthday parties, graduations, as well as filming projects, short films, and podcasts.

Storytelling through photography has been in my blood for as long as I remember and I aim for nothing but to share my passion in any and all ways I can to those who have the same adoration for the art flowing through their veins!

About the lesson

I believe photography, as easy as it is to, "be in the right place at the right time," is consisted of a type of magic that only we can find whereas others may peer right over it, entirely unaware. In my lessons, I emphasize on the framing, the "immersive-ness" of each photograph, as well as the basics of lenses, f-stop, aperture, foreground/middle ground, background - from every day photos of children and family portraits, to landscapes, still life, and models.

Using comparisons from familiar movies and television shows, I can explain tips and tricks, and more importantly how to utilize that secret, untouchable storytelling technique that evokes the emotions from the viewers without the knowledge that we were behind it all!

I believe anyone can become a photographer, but that practice and experience are absolutely key. My in-person lessons will include a package for a model to accompany us where we can exercise all the skills we learn and you will graduate more experienced and enlightened than you arrived!
