About Karissa
I've been taking pictures since I was about 8 years old. When I was gifted a little point-and-shoot camera, I was fascinated by it. My love for these miraculous machines has only grown, and I love to build community around the art of photography however I can! I spent two years of high school studying the art of filmmaking and visually telling stories. It brought me to my four years at University, deepening my reverence and passion. While I went to school, I supported myself by working at a themed escape room, where I learned how to develop and embody a character, and then I worked at a film lab, where I learned everything I know about photo science. Let's embark on your adventure as a photographer, together!

Hi, I'm Karissa! I am a professional photographer, videographer, and filmmaker based in Los Angeles! For as long as I can remember, I've been studying the visual image and visual storytelling. It led me to study film at California State University, Northridge, and I worked in a film lab to support myself through college, where I learned almost everything I know. Now, I'm taking my love for film and photography to the next level, by helping YOU learn more about this art form. I'll teach you the basics of composition, working with your environment, developing character, telling stories, and being resourceful in your journey as an artist! While other teachers may drag down your work or try to intimidate you from learning, that's not how we do things around here. You're absolutely worth the time it takes to develop a new skill.
