About Melvin
I am a professional guitar teacher with experience teaching in all styles and all ages from 5 to 75. I also have experience teaching bass guitar, and ukulele. I have taught both private lessons and group lessons. I specialize in music theory, technique, Christian worship, but also Rock, Blues, Jazz, and Classical styles. I also teach how to read music, but also teach popular songs that students want to learn.

I teach each student based on his/ her needs, according to their goals. I help each student to come up with a plan for organized practice so that the student continues to grow and reach both short term and long term goals. I also develop strong friendships with students, and many of them have become lifelong friends!

Details
I typically cannot travel to students, but if I did, I would also have student pay for my gas and the cost of the time away from normal obligations. If I have to travel for an hour or more, the cost is $300 per day. I can also give discounts to students who have lessons by Skype or some other method via internet, if it's during normal business hours. If after hours, then the fee is more than normal rates.
