About Stefania

I am a professional photographer with over 15 years of experience working in film, television, entertainment and editorial photography. I specialize in unit still photography, portraits, behind-the-scenes photography and events, and I am a member of IATSE Local 600 and the Society of Motion Picture Still Photographers (SMPSP).

Throughout my career, I have photographed on professional film and television sets in the U.S. and internationally, working alongside actors, directors, cinematographers and publicity teams.

I teach photography from a practical, real-world perspective. Whether you are a beginner learning how to use your camera or a photographer looking to develop a stronger visual style and professional portfolio, I adapt each lesson to your experience, interests and goals.

My approach is hands-on, supportive and focused on helping you understand not only the technical side of photography, but how to observe, anticipate and tell a story through images.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed around what you actually want to learn — whether you're starting with photography, improving your visual storytelling, developing a professional portfolio, or interested in working as a photographer in the film and television industry.
I teach both the technical and creative sides of photography, including:
• Camera settings, exposure and lenses • Composition and visual storytelling • Natural and available light • Portrait photography • Digital and film photography • How to photograph people naturally and authentically • Editing and image selection • Building and editing a professional portfolio • Working with actors, directors and crews • Unit still photography and behind-the-scenes photography • Set etiquette and how a film set actually works • Call sheets, publicity requirements and delivering images to production • How to approach production companies and start working professionally
Lessons are customized to each student's experience and goals. Beginners are welcome, as well as photographers who already have technical skills but want to develop a stronger point of view or understand the professional film and television world.
