About Muzzy
I am a structural engineering consultant with 6 years experience working with respectable companies. I am qualified with a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and a Masters degree in Structural Engineering, obtaining a First Class and Distinction respectively. I am actively progressing with my chartership to become a chartered engineer with both the Institution of Civil Engineers and Institution of Structural Engineers.
I have experience in structural engineering especially design, analysis and calculations in the UK using Eurocodes / British Standards. The softwares I use are Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Tedds, Linpro, Sketchup and Bluebeam.
I have experience in site visits for various types of structures from the initial construction process through to its completion. I have inspected various buildings for structural defects and producing reports of my findings and explaining the cause of the defects in a professional manner.
Currently I am working towards my chartership so I have a good understanding of what is expected from both the ICE and IStructE in terms of how to become chartered, what you need to do and how Continued Professional Development is recorded. So I am able to give guidance in this area if needed.

My method of teaching will be to explain structural engineering fundamentals/principles in a easy to understand will begin by asking what you would like me to teach.
Secondly, I will prepare my notes/presentation or go through in a step by step manner with you and recommend any reading for you to understand the subject further to help you understand.
I can also show how the engineering we learn academically is used in practice.
