About Santiago

Hi, I'm Santiago, I'm finishing my studies at the Buenos Aires Music School (EMBA), I have more than 10 years of experience and study of the instrument (drums), 2 albums and 2 released singles, as well as several self-produced projects. I complement my rhythmic studies (sight reading) with 5 years of piano study to deepen my mastery of music theory.

About the lesson

Starting from the objectives and technical knowledge of the student, the mastery of the instrument will be deepened. For this purpose it must be understood that how and when to play. What to touch? What one wants, but in the same way that one sometimes finds the right or wrong words to express oneself, it is necessary to understand the rhythmic language to convey an idea consistent with what one intends. It is also necessary to understand the language to be able to form an idea, write it and be able to reproduce it again. It is a study of music theory, focused on the rhythmic understanding, not only of the drums but of the instruments that it accompanies. (If one listens and understands that he is doing the bass or the guitar, it is easier to generate coherent ideas with the music) How to play? In the easiest way. It is about the study of technique so that our body is not an impediment between ideas and execution. This study includes: Drummer Technique, Kick Technique (single and double), Balance and Control on Set. In addition to a guide to work the swing, groove, feel, etc. And being able to phrase and improvise. When to touch? When the song asks for it. Based on the personal tastes of the student, it will seek to implement the knowledge acquired in the genre of interest. It will seek to understand the role of drums in music, through different genres proposed by the student and then proceed to execute and accompany on the track. Finally, it will be sought that the student learns to record and produce drums, as well as complete songs (study with complementary piano)
