About Pavel
# About Me
I'm a professional drummer based in London and a First-Class BA (Hons) graduate in Popular Music Performance (Drums) and Event Management from BIMM. I've been playing drums since the age of three, developing a lifelong passion for music that has led me to perform across a wide range of live, studio, and collaborative settings.
My playing is rooted in rock, hard rock, and heavy metal, with a particular passion for progressive music. I specialise in odd time signatures, advanced coordination, and double bass drumming, but I'm equally comfortable performing and teaching genres including pop, funk, indie, blues, and more. As a versatile musician, I believe strong technique, musicality, and the ability to adapt are just as important as technical ability.
Some of my biggest influences include Ian Paice, Neil Peart, Gavin Harrison, John Bonham, Stewart Copeland, Bill Bruford, Mike Portnoy, and Cozy Powell. Their unique approaches to groove, feel, creativity, and musical expression have had a lasting impact on my playing.
Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to perform with a variety of artists and projects, continually refining my skills as both a live and studio drummer. I'm an experienced sight-reader, comfortable learning material quickly, and pride myself on being reliable, well-prepared, and easy to work with in any musical setting.
Above all, I'm passionate about making great music and constantly developing as a musician. Whether performing on stage, recording in the studio, or collaborating with other artists, I aim to bring energy, precision, and musicality to every project.

My lessons are tailored to each student's goals, age, and experience level. Whether you're picking up the sticks for the first time, preparing for RSL or Trinity exams, or looking to develop advanced techniques, I provide structured, engaging lessons in a supportive environment. I teach a wide range of styles, with particular expertise in rock, progressive music, and metal, while also covering essential skills such as technique, timing, coordination, reading notation, improvisation, and musicality. My aim is to help every student become a confident, well-rounded drummer while enjoying the learning process.
Lessons can either be taught online, at my practice space in Bethnal Green or at your home.
