About Lidi

Well, in a few words: Targeted, efficient, bespoke and relaxed.
A confident learner is a successful learner and that confidence is crucial. I will encourage, not humiliate (I will never, ever, belittle or make my clients feel small) and you can be confident that topics are pitched perfectly so my students can make speedy progress straight away.
I was and still am a second language student; English and currently a new third language student; Portuguese. This allows me to understand the whole learning process from a holistic perspective.

About the lesson

At the start of each meeting, I ask the student how they're feeling, like if they're tired or excited about something going on in their life. This helps me better prepare for any distractions or a slow lesson, and I think this also lets them know that I care about their well-being and not just that they're at the lesson. Then, I ask how if they had any wins since we last met. I find that starting with this positivity helps both of us focus on the good, which often makes for a more productive session.

I then go over the agenda for the session so that they know what to expect. I also typically give them a brief quiz to go over the previous sessions' topics and see what they remember and or where they may need additional work. After the review, I try to connect how those previous topics relate to what we're going over in the current session. I go through the lesson, which typically involves the student reading material aloud and discussing the prompts with me. Finally, I leave at least five minutes at the end of the session for any additional questions about the material.

My lessons are for anyone who is interested in learning or improving the language, the lessons are designed in a dynamic way that regardless of age will allow the student to either learn from 0 knowledge or strengthen their existing skills or knowledge.
