About Jamie

The most important aspect of teaching, in my opinion, is to enable each individual to move towards a fulfilling future, whatever that looks like. I believe every child can achieve with the right support, and I intend to find what that support looks like, with unending patience and no judgement.

From my combined four years’ experience supporting in UK primary schools, I have seen that the key to engagement, motivation, and achievement is finding and working with individual strengths and interests, which build self-confidence and a love of learning. I deliver individualised lessons which work towards personal goals and adapt to individual needs.

I have experience working with pupils with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Global Developmental Delay and other SEN needs, and I truly believe there are no barriers to learning that cannot be overcome with adaptation, effort, and patience.

I am more than happy to support and work with pupils experiencing frequent meltdowns; sensory and cognitive needs; difficulty staying engaged and focused; and demand avoidance. Any accommodations or support needed will be carefully listened to and acted on.

About the lesson

Personally planned, individualised lessons, prioritising a positive regard, motivation and patience for engaging and non-judgemental teaching.

I am well-versed in the educational works of Brighouse, Piaget, Vygotsky and others to deliver research-informed planning that prioritises child-centred, adaptive teaching. Lessons are well-structured for predictability, while adaptable and built for the individual.

I have a combined 20 weeks of university placement in UK primary schools, including within SEND mainstream provision and specialised SEND schools, as well as experience ranging two years volunteering. I have hundreds of hours experience teaching, presenting and planning, with a focus on 1-1 supportive work.

I teach core and foundation subjects in line with the Primary National Curriculum; Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning for the 11+ exam; and English and Maths GCSEs. Please contact me for enquiries or requests.
