About Raqayyah
Hi, I’m Raqayyah! I’m a dedicated private tutor with experience supporting children and young people across primary and secondary education. I particularly enjoy helping students who may need a little extra encouragement, whether that’s building confidence in Maths, improving their reading and writing skills, or preparing for GCSE English.
I teach because I genuinely enjoy helping students understand things that may initially seem difficult and seeing their confidence grow. I believe every student learns differently, so I take the time to understand their individual needs and adapt my lessons accordingly. My aim is to make learning feel supportive, engaging and achievable, while helping students develop skills they can use independently.
I have experience working with English and EAL pupils, creating lesson materials and providing individual academic support. I am also Enhanced DBS checked and safeguarding trained, so creating a safe and positive learning environment is very important to me.

My lessons are personalised to each student’s individual needs, ability and learning goals. I provide supportive, engaging one-to-one tutoring for Primary English and Maths, as well as GCSE English Language and Literature. Lessons follow the UK curriculum and, for GCSE students, can be tailored to their specific exam board and set texts. I focus on building knowledge, confidence, exam technique and strong independent learning skills. I can also support with homework, revision, reading, writing, comprehension and areas where a student may need extra help. My approach is patient and encouraging, creating a comfortable environment where students can ask questions, develop their skills and make progress at their own pace.
