About Mercy
Hi, I’m Mercy! I’m 17, studying A-Levels in Politics, Sociology, and Religious Studies, and I’m predicted 3 A*s while applying to Cambridge University. My long-term goal is to study Human, Social, and Political Sciences and work in international roles, such as at the United Nations, helping to shape policy and promote human rights globally. I’m passionate about tutoring because I believe education is the foundation for empowerment. I want to help students develop the skills, confidence, and curiosity to reach their full potential—just as I strive to achieve my own ambitions. I was homeschooled for my GCSEs, achieving all As and A*s, so I know the importance of independent learning and personalised support. I’ve also helped students make real progress, including taking a Politics student from a C to an A*. My lessons focus on understanding, critical thinking, and applying knowledge to real-world issues. I aim to make learning engaging and meaningful, helping students not only achieve top grades but also gain the confidence and skills that will support them in future academic and professional goals.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, focusing on building understanding, confidence, and exam-ready skills. I break down complex concepts in Politics and Sociology into clear, manageable steps, using real-world examples to make the material engaging and relevant. I prioritise interactive learning, encouraging students to ask questions, think critically, and apply theory to practice. Lessons include exam techniques, structured revision strategies, and targeted support to help students improve their grades. I’ve successfully helped students achieve significant progress, including taking a Politics student from a C to an A*. Whether you need support with understanding core topics, preparing for exams, or developing independent study skills, my lessons provide the guidance, strategies, and personalised approach to help you reach your full academic potential.
