About Kris
I'm Kris.
I hold a degree in Microbiology and Immunology and have spent years both conducting scientific research and tutoring students. As someone currently preparing for nursing school, I know firsthand how demanding science courses can be and how much difference a clear, supportive mentor makes.
My goal is to take the stress out of biology. Whether you are aiming to boost your high school grades, master tough university concepts, or prepare for a healthcare career, I tailor every lesson to your pace and learning style. I break complex topics down into intuitive ideas, share practical study habits that actually work, and build a judgment-free space where you feel comfortable asking any question.

Teaching Approach
Biology can get incredibly frustrating when it becomes pure memorization. My goal is to help you actually understand how different topics and/or biological systems work so the facts stick naturally.
Visualizing Complex Concepts: We turn dense pathways such as cell respiration, metabolic loops, or genetics into straightforward flowcharts and diagrams so you see the whole picture.
Smart Study Habits: I build active recall practice into our lessons so you aren't just passively re-reading notes, prepping your brain for exam conditions.
Test Strategy: We work through real practice questions together to build problem-solving confidence and catch any potential sneaky traps.
A Typical Session (60 Mins)
10 min | Warm-Up: Quick recap of past topics to fix any shaky spots before moving forward.
25 min | New Material: Breaking down new concepts with diagrams, clear logic, and practical analogies.
15 min | Practice: Applying what we just learned to actual exam-style problems and scenarios.
10 min | Wrap-Up: You summarize the main takeaways in your own words so we know it clicked.
Who I Teach
Based in Greater Vancouver (available online or in-person):
High School (Grades 8–12): General Science, Biology 11, and Biology 12.
University (1st/2nd Year): Intro Biology, Cell Biology, and general Life Sciences.
