About Chunyu
I'm a literary editor and writer currently based in Austin. I've worked as the Senior Poetry Editor at a literary journal and I also edit and design books for small presses, so reading closely and helping writers improve is what I do every day. I taught an honors modernist literature class at the School of Visual Arts in New York, and I hold an MA from NYU, where I completed their pedagogy training. Outside of work I ride motorcycles, read, and paint. I love helping people find their way into difficult texts and their own writing.

Hi! I'm Joyce, a literary editor and writer and I've taught literature at the college level. My lessons are built around your own reading and writing, not a fixed curriculum. If you're studying literature, we'll work on close reading, essay structure, and developing arguments, whether that's a class assignment, exam prep, or reading you want to go deeper on. If you're writing your own poems or stories, we'll workshop them the way editors actually do, line by line, with honest and encouraging feedback. I've completed NYU's pedagogy training and I'm happy to adapt to any level. Every lesson ends with something concrete: a revision, a reading, or a next step.
