About Rodrigo
My technical approach to piano teaching is based on what I learned from Professor Mauricy Martin and his students. In this approach, we seek to make the student aware of how to perform the movements in an intelligent and healthy way, awakening in him body awareness and thus making him able to play with the minimum effort necessary, using the weight of the arm much more than the strength of the fingers .

Rodrigo Fratin is a pianist, composer and teacher. Graduated in Classical Composition and also in Popular Music at UNICAMP, he carried out several scientific researches in the areas of soundtracks and absolute pitch. After his 20 years of experience as a musician, Rodrigo seeks to work with his students on a solid foundation of piano initiation, employing the technical principles of the North American teacher Dorothy Taubman, who composes a very detailed and scientific methodology. "Music is a form of language, and just like in a new language, we first listen, then we start to speak imitating, and only then comes the writing and expression of the more complex speeches. That's why the focus at the beginning should be in listening to music and learning the pieces of the repertoire, which must be learned in a process of imitating correct and healthy movements. As soon as this first step takes root in the student, we can begin to explore the creation and awaken the student's interest in the theory that guides the art of composing in each musical style."
