About Jason
I graduated with my degree over a decade ago and recently went back to school myself for a diploma in architecture because I was looking to change careers. I have been tutoring others in math and physics since I was in high school and my math teacher couldn't relate or communicate effectively with the students. Meanwhile, I learned my methodology from my high school physics teacher, because he was able to keep everyone interested, even those who "didn't like math and science", while instilling a confidence in their own abilities. One of my hobbies is fencing (ok, playing with swords) but I always tell people, a sword fight is all about the physics!

The most important part of tutoring for me is to get a student to show confidence. This is why I always want to start with what they know. Then we can add small building blocks, little twists, alternative views and slowly increase the difficulty. Sometimes this happens without the student even realizing that they are several levels more advanced than before. Getting students to what my favourite prof once called "...the moment of AHA!" fills me with joy and I believe that fosters learning with positive reinforcement. The other thing that I strive for is getting practical understanding of how to USE what you are learning. I can help a student with any subject because of my approach and my wide knowledge base, but I am most knowledgeable in math, stats and physics from grade 7 to university undergraduate level.
