About Callum
I spent most of my secondary school life detesting science and maths. I fully believed that a person was either born capable of doing well in these subjects, or destined to struggle by for a pass.
It wasn't until, well into my A-levels, that I discovered that there is incredible variety in how we can approach problems in maths and physics. The curricula we follow in these subjects are hard, and in many cases with so many students to a class we often can't have teachers help us develop our own unique ways of thinking about these kinds of problems.
I took this belief in a creative science and maths and went to university to study a masters in physics. During my time I studied a vast array of subjects, from quantum computing to space and auroral physics, superfluids and superconductors, and the physics of the atom and its constituent particles - all exciting and filled with opportunity to explore the natural world. This passion was rewarded with a First-Class honours degree in 2021, and I believe that as a young graduate I can pass on that passion for problem solving and the creative approach to logical thinking!

A recent graduate with a first class honours MPhys degree seeking to engage with keen students to achieve their best possible potential in KS3-5 Physics and Maths.
I believe that physics is often misrepresented as a rigid and inflexible discipline. I know this to be untrue and have actively engaged in brining an accessible and creative flair to physics throughout my 4 years of undergraduate/postgraduate study.
Each student learns in a unique way and this is something I am passionate about facilitating. Instead of forcing a singular, outdated view of how we should approach a problem, I believe that by exploring a student's natural approach to problem solving it can be nurtured and cultivated to allow them to develop analytical problem solving skills without disenfranchising or boring them.
I have a strong knowledge of the GCSE/A-level curricula for both maths and physics and can deliver online, personalised lessons in whatever areas students may need to focus upon. Custom problem sets and exercises can be written in a way that challenges a student to their individual ability whilst facilitating consistent improvement.
