About Singalakha
I am a Physics graduate with an Honours degree in Astrophysics and Space Science, currently completing my MSc in Physics (Radio Astronomy). I also work professionally in space weather forecasting, where I monitor and analyse solar and geomagnetic activity and communicate scientific information clearly.
My academic journey has given me a strong foundation in Physics and Mathematics, but it has also taught me the importance of having someone who can explain difficult concepts in a simple and patient way.
I enjoy teaching and science communication, and I have experience engaging with students and the public through tutoring, presentations, outreach activities and science communication. I particularly enjoy helping learners build confidence in subjects they may initially find intimidating.
For me, tutoring is not only about improving marks. I want students to develop their problem-solving skills, understand the concepts behind the equations, and hopefully discover that Physics and Mathematics can actually be enjoyable.

My lessons focus on making Physics and Mathematics easier to understand by breaking difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps. I combine clear explanations with worked examples, problem-solving and exam-style questions, while adapting each lesson to the student’s individual needs and pace.
I aim to help learners and/or students understand why a method works rather than simply memorising formulae. Where appropriate, I also use real-world examples from physics, astronomy and space science to make concepts more interesting and relatable.
Lessons can include concept revision, homework support, test and examination preparation, past-paper practice and help with specific topics a student may be struggling with. Students are encouraged to ask questions freely — the goal is to create a relaxed learning environment where mistakes become part of the learning process.
I offer online Mathematics and Physical Sciences support for high-school learners, as well as Physics support at introductory university level.
