About Willem
I am a trainee Counselor and Psychotherapist, currently doing clinical placement, as well as a Graduate from a degree in Philosophy and English. I am an avid reader of Fiction, Poetry, Critical Theory, Philosophy, Psychoanalysis, and am myself a practicing writer of both Fiction and Non-Fiction. Throughout the years I have assisted many people from various backgrounds with their studies in a variety of ways, and really enjoy helping people find passion, joy and curiosity from their studies.
I greatly value education and study, and hope to bring my own passion and learned skills to others who may benefit from it in academic, professional and personal ways.

I am an Australian National University graduate, offering one-on-one support for students studying English, Philosophy, and other humanities subjects, with a focus on essay writing, clarity of argument, and discovering and strengthening your own voice. I have a background in counseling training, which means I bring a patient, person-centered approach to sessions. I aim to create a space where you can think out loud, make mistakes, explore ideas, and gradually build clarity.
I am passionate about inclusion and respect of different identities, learning styles, and ways of thinking. This includes being mindful of neurodivergence, physical and mental health challenges, diverse gender identities, and more. Sessions are adapted to suit your pace, needs, personality and how you work best.
My approach is not just about “fixing” essays, but helping you develop your own style of thinking and questioning, and working together to structure ideas, and express them with confidence. I work especially well with students who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to translate their thoughts into strong writing.
