About Mario
I am an Italian student in the UK. I travelled here to study right after finishing high school. The impact of such a big change meant that I had to figure out how to navigate study and university more generally mostly on my own. This originally resulted in my interest in teaching and learning, and my degree definitely helped.
Now, four and a half year later, after many mistakes but also with a First Class B.A., an upper-merit M.A. in Philosophy, and various academic prizes, I can say that my methods worked, and I am ready to share them with people who – like me at the beginning – struggle to make sense of it all.
Ultimately, my message is: If you feel stuck, or behind others, I know that feeling too. But I also know that it doesn’t have to be like that – and I’m here to help.

I try to keep my classes short and focussed, not exceeding one hour or one hour and a half at most.
I aim to provide my students not with notions, but to teach them a method by which to tackle the material on their own. I thus base my tutoring primarily on adialogue, and on encouraging the student to be autonomous in their discovering what is their way of learning and approaching the material. I mostly intend to be a guide in this process.
I base this method on the experience I had in Philosophy seminars throughout university at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. These are heavily based on critical analysis and discussion. Although taking this from university teaching, I think that such a method can be highly beneficial at all levels of learning, and particularly stimulating for high school students.
