About Felix

I have recently completed a master's degree in philosophy and the arts and am looking to tutor GCSE and A-Level students in religious studies, philosophy and ethics.
During the my final year of my undergraduate, I provided guidance to first year philosophy students with essays as well as taking part in multiple student-led conferences. It is because of such experiences that I have become inspired to offer one-to-one support and now see it as an invaluable aid in getting better at the subject. Having been a GCSE/Sixth Form student studying philosophy and ethics in the not-too-distant past, I know that studying this subject can be challenging in quite a unique way. But having been in your position myself, I am keen to show you that philosophy can be fun and interesting, and subject worth pursuing.

About the lesson

The lessons aim to help the student understand the content of their learning in a way that boosts confidence and pushes them to feel more motivated in the subject.
Each lesson will be structured around the student's needs, working on a specific topic or set of questions of their choosing. Time will also be devoted to looking over essays/essay plans as desired and necessary. Moving through such activities in detail will allow the student a chance to sit with and reflect on content, solidifying understanding in a relaxed and conversational environment.
I am committed to a discussion-based style of teaching in line with the nature of religious studies, philosophy and ethics. This will help students to develop their thoughts in ways that are productive, creative and fun.
I typically offer 1 hour sessions but this is also dependent on the student's preferences.

Felix and I were postgraduate students at the University of Warwick together carrying out our research alongside each other for our Masters in Philosophy and the Arts. We had many great discussions about our essays in which he was able to help me think of and through objections to my own arguments, which I found to be highly helpful and valuable.

I also had the pleasure of watching him present a showcase on Simone de Beauvoir at the Philosophy Department's annual Christmas Conference, where he spoke confidently in front of hundreds of academics with much knowledge on the topic.

Felix would be an amazing tutor to have, and the tutor for you if you would like engaging and thorough discussions on your work.
