About JOAQUIN

I was born in Spain, and I live currently in Madrid. I have lived in Los Angeles for several years, and I have moved around quite a lot...

Apart from my degree in Spanish Philology, I have more than ten years of experience in teaching Spanish. I started teaching while I was still a student myself in the University of Sevilla, in the south of Spain. My first students were German Erasmus students visiting Spain, and then American students visiting. That was back in 2008. Ever since, I've been teaching Spanish as a second language to students from all around the world, mainly through video calls and individually, but also in person and with groups of high school students or professionals who were looking to acquire special skills and vocabulary. I've had students from the US, England, Ireland, Germany, Australia, China, Italy, France, Brasil and Japan, among other nationalities.

I focus on conversational skills, and I try to keep classes as playful as possible. I may also give you homework from time to time!

I speak several languages, and I am passionate about them. I also teach Spanish to Spanish people. I am perfectly qualified to teach you Spanish, whatever your level is.

About the lesson

I am a Philologist (Bachelor's Degree in Spanish Philology, both Language and Literature majors), with an experience of over 10+ years of teaching Spanish as a second language. I have taught students from all around the world, and of all ages and conditions, from elementary or high school to PhD students, professionals and even retired students.

I am bilingual, and though I especialize in superior levels and superior skills, I teach all levels. My methods vary depending on the student's needs and goals, but my approach is to help my students be as immersive as possible into Spanish and its culture.
